Known for its dramatic power and lively orchestration, Monteverdi’s Baroque masterwork L’Orfeo is one of the earliest music dramas still regularly performed.
This new production is staged and designed by Robert Wilson, who the New York Times described as “a towering figure in the world of experimental theater, an explorer in the uses of time and space onstage.”
L’Orfeo stars Georg Nigl stars in the title role, and Roberta Invernizzi, one of the most sought-after soprano soloists in the world of early music. And conductor Rinaldo Alessandrini is a ‘can’t miss’ in today’s international early music scene.
