Founded in 1957, Kansas City Ballet is a 28-member professional ballet company under the direction of Artistic Director William Whitener and Executive Director Jeffrey J. Bentley. Kansas City Ballet performs three mixed repertory seasons per year as well as the ever-popular Nutcracker. The company also reaches over 15,000 Kansas City students and adults each year through its community education programs and provides dance training through the Kansas City Ballet School.

Kansas City Youth Ballet
The focus of the KCYB is on excellence in training and developing a professional performance atmosphere for the dancers. The goal has been to promote the art of ballet through education and performance for the dancers and the community. KCYB is made up of 23 dancers ranging in age from 15-18, who study under Director Kimberly Cowen, Ballet Master Hyku-Ku Kwon and the faculty of the Kansas City Ballet School. The company presents two major performances each season and educational outreach demonstrations throughout the community, showcasing many original works by local and national choreographers, as well as new emerging artists.

Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity
Our new home, which opened August 2011, in conjunction with our new stage at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, is poised to make Kansas City AND Kansas City Ballet a true destination for dance.
