Bach Aria Soloists Presents Free Concert November 19

The_Story_of_FerdinandDo you remember The Story of Ferdinand? The timeless story by Munro Leaf turned a young 75 years old this year. This lovely tale of a bull who would rather sniff flowers than be the typical hard-headed bull has been set to music a few times. Some of those tunes will be part of the free concert offered by the Bach Aria Soloists Nov. 19.

Musical Tales Featuring Ferdinand the Bull will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Central Branch Library. Bach Aria Soloists brings to life the humor and drama of the cherished children’s classic Ferdinand the Bull with music by English composer Alan Ridout, performed by violinist Elizabeth Suh Lane and actor Stuart Rider.  The performance includes Roger Quilter songs based on Shakespeare and Franz Schubert’s masterful Gretchen inspired by Goethe.  Rebecca Lloyd, soprano; Beau Bledsoe, guitar; and Elisa Bickers, harpsichord, also participate in this concert.

Register at www.bachariasoloists.com for seats and for more information about the group’s performances in 2012.
