At night, with the lights on, the Bloch Building glows thanks to architect Steven Holl’s innovative use of translucent glass panel walls. While Holl employed glass walls in some of his earlier buildings, his addition to the Nelson-Atkins represents the first time he employed them in a museum. The effect is sensational.
