The Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City advances and supports the arts for the benefit of the Kansas City region.

Bach Aria Soloists

The Bach Aria Soloists is the dynamic ensemble dedicated to presenting the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach, his contemporaries and those inspired by him to the community. Through informative performances of vocal and instrumental chamber music, masterclasses, and Bachreach education, the Bach Aria Soloists brings the brilliant music of Bach, the Baroque, and the contemporary to new life in the intimate settings for which this music was intended.

Camellot Academy

Camellot Academy is a five-week performance-based fine arts camp for ages 5-14. An introduction to voice, drama, dance, guitar and art at Rockhurst High School concludes with a full-scale production. June 11-July 14.

The Charlotte Street Foundation

Charlotte Street Foundation (CSF) supports and recognizes outstanding artists in Greater Kansas City; presents, promotes, enhances and encourages the visual, performing and interdisciplinary arts; and fosters economic development in the urban core of Kansas City, MO. In all endeavors, CSF places artists at the center of its mission and has built an infrastructure that depends on and reflects their involvement. As a result, CSF is an organization that continually evolves in response to artist input and in relation to the city’s larger cultural ecosystem.

Coterie Theatre

The Coterie, a professional Equity theatre, is among the top five theatres serving families and young audiences in the United States, according to TIME magazine. Travel+Leisure magazine’s top ten list of children’s theatres described the Coterie as “a theatre that resolutely refuses to talk down to its audience.” The mainstage season consists of six full productions: three for older students (junior high and high school) and adults, and three for younger audiences and families.

Crossroads KC At Grinders

The Crossroads KC @ Grinders was born out of a deep passion for live music and the arts. It is no coincidence that our new venue is in the Crossroads art district just few blocks south of downtown KC. We are not a huge multi-national company. We are not corporate investors from the east or west coast. We are the small friendly local guys that are less concerned with the bottom line than your enjoyment and support. We have a long history and tradition of being an extremely fan friendly promoter always fighting for affordable ticket prices and service charges. At the Crossroads, KC @ Grinders the music and the fan experience will always be our first and foremost commitment.

Heart of America Shakespeare Festival

The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is in our 20th year of presenting FREE professional productions of Shakespeare’s works outdoors in Southmoreland Park each summer under the stars. The Festival also offers year round in-school and weekend workshops and intensives and nine metro area Shakespeare camps for kids ages 5 – 18.

KC Actors Theatre

We challenge and enlighten the Kansas City community by producing classic and modern-classic plays using Kansas City theatre artists. We present a collection of plays that are integrated, whether over a season or in true rotating repertory, in order to deepen the appreciation of each individual play.

We are an artist-led, artist-driven ensemble of theatre professionals.

The Kansas City Chorale

The Kansas City Chorale is a professional vocal ensemble that enriches the local, national and international communities through its dedication to excellence in performing music from diverse historical periods. In its THIRTIETH season, the Chorale will present seven concerts as part of their subscription series as well as five non-subscription concerts.

Liberty Symphony Orchestra

The mission of the Liberty Symphony Orchestra is to enhance the quality of life in the greater Liberty community by promoting the enjoyment and appreciation of classical music.

The Lied Center of Kansas

Performing Arts venue located on the University of Kansas Campus,
hosts nationally recognized performing acts.

Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice

Long time Kansas City school of dance/voice/fine arts. Have several public events per year. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary in 2013. Offer classes through out the year including a Summer Intensive. Featuring Six Performance Groups, a Competition Team and the Miller Marley Youth Ballet Company.

Musica Vocale

Musica Vocale is an ensemble made up of highly skilled choral musicians that performs choral literature, often accompanied by orchestra, that is not often performed in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. This volunteer ensemble is comprised of veteran members of the region’s musical community. Most of the choral artists bring extensive experience as music educators and performers, and are engaged throughout the region as soloists and conductors.

newEar contemporary chamber ensemble

Now in our 19th consecutive season, newEar contemporary music ensemble dedicates itself to commissioning and performing music of our time to provide our listeners with unique, stimulating and enlivening musical experiences.

Paul Mesner Puppets

Paul Mesner, puppeteer, author and performer became interested in puppetry at an early age. As a teenager he studied with Lee Ridge in Lincoln, Nebraska before starting his own puppet theater in Omaha. He toured his shows throughout Minnesota before studying at the prestigious International Institute of Puppetry in Charleville-Mezier, France. He moved to Kansas City where in 1987 he founded the Paul Mesner Puppets.

Quality Hill Playhouse

Quality Hill Playhouse is dedicated to excellence in the live performance of works from musical theatre and the American Songbook, employing the finest local talent, and contributing to Kansas City’s cultural and economic landscape.

Quixotic

Quixotic, conceived by founder Anthony Magliano is an ensemble of artists from various disciplines including aerial acrobatics, dance, fashion, film, music and visual f-x. This inventive group of artists goes beyond the limits of any specific art form, challenging traditional perceptions and creating a total sensory experience unlike any other for its audience while exploring infinite possibilities of movement, sound and multimedia.

Summit Theatre Group

Our mission is to provide Lee’s Summit and surrounding areas with enjoyable live theatre opportunities and experiences for individuals and families, artists and audiences, citizens and visitors through community involvement in a vibrant, dynamic organization.

“We Always Swing” Jazz Series

The “We Always Swing” Jazz Series, founded in 1995 as a concert producing and educational organization, is designed to present, promote, preserve and celebrate the great American art from known as “jazz.”

We are a fully equipped community ceramics studio and are home to
several full time professional potters. We offer classes for all ages
and skill levels. Our gallery is open to the public every Third Friday
and for special events.

Belger Arts Center

In addition to sharing the collection we curate new exhibitions throughout the year. All of this is free to the public. We also use our facilities to partner with other art-related organizations for their art related events. We are conveniently located in the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District.

Leedy-Voulkos Art Center

Founded in 1985 by Jim Leedy, with the vision of initiating a thriving art community; The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center’s mission is to profile world class art work made by Kansas City’s creative community. We continue the founder’s legacy of sharing professional resources with developing artists. We exist to exhibit compelling shows of international talent, while providing a venue for local, regional, and national artists to develop their careers. We exist to help build and support professional art making in order to retain Kansas City’s talent.

Missouri Valley Impressionist Society (MVIS)

The Missouri Valley Impressionist Society is an organization that unifies modern impressionists throughout the Missouri River Valley. To preserve and support the appreciation of this representational art form. The MVIS welcomes both, studio and plein air artists, and is one of few organizations in the Midwest that embraces the method of painting en plein air.

Increase awareness, recognize talent and achievements and, build audiences while growing the reputation for quality studio and independent motion pictures by the professional film community in Kansas and Missouri.

CinemaKC is an initiative of the Film Society of Greater Kansas City which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that has been connecting with movie lovers since 1991.

KCPT: Kansas City Public Television

A great city deserves a great public television station… one that is capable of delivering community-building television programs and services as the voice and the platform for its community.

Liberty Arts Squared

Liberty Arts Squared is an annual arts festival held on the historic downtown Liberty Square the first weekend of June. The event includes fine visual, performing, literary and childrens’ interactive arts.

Overland Park, Kansas

A suburb of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, Overland Park was incorporated as a first-class city May 20, 1960 with a population of 28,085. Since then, the nationally recognized city has grown to more than 173,000 residents, making it the second most populous city in Kansas.

Toy and Miniature Museum

The Toy and Miniature Museum houses a collection of antique toys from the late Victorian era as well as an art collection of contemporary fine-scale miniatures.
