Musicians Score a World Series Win

With any luck, there will be New York bagels and lox on the lunch menu for the Kansas City Symphony early next month. They score, if the Royals win the World Series.

But if the Mets win, the New York Philharmonic’s musicians will enjoy Kansas City barbeque for lunch—with a little extra cayenne, hmmm?

The lunch bargain is part of a bigger agreement between the two orchestras, which includes a musical component.

“If we win, the New York Phil will perform Everything’s Up To Date in Kansas City with their conductor wearing a Royals jersey,” says KC Symphony spokesperson, Beth Buchanan. “If we lose, Michael (Stern) will end a classical concert with New York, New York and wear a Mets jersey.”

Such a tiresome tune, don’t you think?
