Belger Arts Center

Since 2001, Belger Arts Center has hosted over 40 contemporary art exhibitions featuring the work of creative pioneers from the John and Maxine Belger Foundation Collection such as Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Cottingham, Renee Stout, and many others. The annual exhibition schedule also includes rotating solo and group exhibitions of area, national, and international artists.

Through the Touring Exhibition Program, major works of art are made available to museums such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, university galleries, and other arts organizations for exhibition and study.

Docent-led tours at Belger Arts Center provide educational opportunities to the community. Since partnering with Red Star Studios in 2009, programming has expanded to include a hands-on component in which visitors participating in group tours can work with clay. To schedule a tour and a hands-on activity please call 816-474-3250.

The Belger Arts Center is located on the 1st & 3rd floors at 2100 Walnut St. Kansas City, MO in the Crossroads Arts District.

Other topics, like international military interventions, animal cruelty, gun violence, or racism can leave some people uncomfortable. Art is the same way. Some art addresses social issues head-on. This kind of art is not always the most popular. That’s OK.
