The Linda Hall Library is the world’s foremost independent research library devoted to science, engineering and technology. A not-for-profit, privately funded institution, the Library is open to the public free of charge.
Since 1946, scholars, students, researchers, academic institutions and businesses throughout the Kansas City region, across the nation and around the world have used the Linda Hall Library’s collections to learn, investigate, invent, explore and increase knowledge. Hundreds of people of all ages attend the Library’s public programs each year to expand their awareness and understanding of science and technology.
Additionally, the Library’s grounds are maintained as an urban arboretum that is open to the public for education and enjoyment.
The William N. Deramus III Cosmology Theater
The William N. Deramus III Cosmology Theater features some of the latest high-definition video projection technology.
The theater currently features the ViewSpace program of the Space Telescope Science Institute.
The Cosmology Theater is open all hours that the library is open. Visitors are welcome to enter or leave the theater at any time. We encourage you to visit and enjoy this wonderful addition to the resources of the library.
