Kansas City is not absent in this renaissance, and one of the artists we can thank for that is gifted painter Kwanza Humphrey.

Join us this First Friday for the first solo exhibition of the year at the Bunker Center for the Arts. The exhibition, Byron Anway’s “Gatherings,” will feature several large scale oil and water color paintings in the South galleries. Byron Anway is an artist, educator, and musician living and working in Lincoln, NE. Byron earned an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA from Luther College.

For Jason Needham, creating art nowadays is all about the journey. What began as a self-imposed challenge for the Kansas City artist during his time as a stay-at-home parent has become the mainstay of his creative output. Needham’s early career focused on comic-style Pop Art paintings, a process he describes as “just having an idea and executing it.
