Greetings, Saul Steinberg : A Free Art Exhibit at Crown Center

This summer, the Hallmark Art Collection presents Greetings, Saul Steinberg – an exhibition featuring dozens of original mixed-media drawings by Saul Steinberg at Gallery at 2450 in the Crown Center Shops.

Perhaps best known for his cover illustrations for The New Yorker magazine, Steinberg was born in 1914 to a Jewish family in Romania, but fled Europe in 1941 to escape the persecution of Jews. While living in the US, Steinberg collaborated with many companies who featured his memorable illustrations on their products.

He had a long partnership with Hallmark Cards, creating over 100 works for greeting cards, calendars and gift products. In this exhibition, viewers will see a selection of Steinberg’s original drawings from the 1950s and 60s, as well as historic products and correspondence from the Hallmark Archives.

This free exhibit is open to the public through September 6th at the new Gallery at 2450, Crown Center Shops, Level 2.

Open Monday – Saturday, 10am to 6pm; Sunday, Noon to 5pm.
