Iris DeMent and Greg Brown Headline Benefit Concert at Folly Theater

At 8 p.m., Nov. 11, United Inner City Services will host Our Town, An Evening with Iris DeMent and Greg Brown, a very special benefit concert for St. Mark Child and Family Development Center. Folk music legends, Iris DeMent and Greg Brown, both members of St. Mark Union Church, are returning to Kansas City for a special evening at the historic Folly Theater, marking the first time this musical couple has ever performed a concert together.

St. Mark is an organization, providing high quality early childhood education to some of our community’s most at-risk kids.

Iris and Greg continue to be recognized as two of the most critically-acclaimed singer-songwriters in the country.  Recently, Iris’ music was featured in the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit, and Greg Brown was the inspiration for Jeff Bridge’s character in the film, Crazy Heart.

Tickets are $40 and $25 and can be purchased at the Folly Theater box office from 10am-5pm Monday through Friday, or by calling 816-474-4444.

Tickets may also be purchased through Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
