Enjoy the Kansas City Symphony from the New Choral Seats

The Choral Loft in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts recieved an awesome upgrade over the summer. Brand new individual seats, identical to those found in the rest of the hall, have replaced the upright, bench-style seating.

The change came after the Kansas City Symphony and Kauffman Center received feedback from patrons who said they enjoyed the unique vantage and close proximity to the Symphony that the Choral Loft provided, yet they felt the bench-style seats were uncomfortable. Several generous donors helped fund the new seating: Kent Sunderland and the Sunderland Foundation, Julia Irene Kauffman and the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation.

These new Choral Seats provide an unparalleled connection with the music, the musicians and a thrilling view of the conductor — a great experience with a new level of comfort.

For the 2016-17 season, the Kansas City Symphony is offering its most affordable subscriptions in these new Choral Seats, both 7- and 14-concert Classical Series packages, 4-concert Pops Series packages and 4-concert Family Series packages. In fact, attendees can secure a season ticket starting at just $19 per concert.

The Symphony presents a wide range of concerts and shares the stage with big stars in the 2016-17 season, including the R&B `90s icons Boyz II Men, legendary pianist Emanuel Ax, who will perform not one — but two Mozart piano concertos, and pops singer-songwriter Ben Folds, who returns for a special one-night-only concert.

Additionally, students will benefit from this new change as the Symphony offers affordable student tickets for the Choral Seats. Student 30 years and younger with a valid, school-issued ID can purchase a Student Season Pass for only $25 to attend as many Classical Series concerts as they want (with the exception of three high-demand concerts) while sitting in the new Choral Seats. The Symphony also offers $10 student tickets for most Classical Series, in advance and the Kauffman Center ticket desk two hours prior to scheduled concerts, subject to availability.
