The Coterie premieres Horse Power: Tom Bass’ American Story

Horse Power: Tom Bass’ American Story tells the inspiring story of Tom Bass, a Missourian born in slavery, who became the greatest horseman of his time, internationally known for being a horse whisperer and starting American Royal’s first horse show. In contemporary times, Natalia (“Nate”) Edmonds is a Black teenager in Kansas City who loves horses and learns about Tom Bass’ legacy as she grapples with what modern day racism looks like.

KC Clay Guild Raku Night

Join KC Clay Guild for their annual Raku Night! Participants will choose a piece of bisqueware to glaze. The kiln crew will raku fire the pieces while you enjoy live music, food trucks, and Boulevard beer. Your piece will be ready to take home about an hour after it has been fired. All proceeds from Raku Night 2024 support the KC Clay Guild mission to promote the appreciation of and participation in ceramic arts through group and individual education programs, public outreach and the creation of a diverse ceramic arts community.
