In addition to the variety of artist booths that will be spread through historic Downtown Lee’s Summit during the 9th Annual Summit Art Festival, patrons can visit Children’s Art Area, which will include an array of interactive art activities for festival goers. Included in the KidZone will be henna art, spin art, button making and other activities for kids and the entire family to enjoy. Heart of America Shakespeare Festival will be hosting an arts and craft project where festival-goers can choose from embellishing Paper crowns or a Coat-of-Arms. Kids will be guiding through the creation of origami folding. Shining Light music, of Downtown Lee’s Summit, will be hosting an instrument petting zoo: hands-on fun with instruments. Children (and their parents) have the chance to get up close and personal with the instruments. There will be plenty of free parking, food/beverage court, live music and something for the entire family to enjoy. The event is organized by Summit Art a local non-profit arts organization.
