The performARTS giveaways have begun. Charlotte Street Foundation gave two tickets for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at Andy Brayman’s studio. The other giveaways were to God of Carnage by the Kansas City Actors Theatre.
Brayman is known for his conceptual and functional ceramics. He received hisBFA in Ceramics from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (Alfred, NY). He was a visiting professor of ceramics at Bennington College 2003-2005, then moved back to Kansas City to establish the Matter Factory in Kansas City, Kan., which serves as studio, laboratory, and launch pad for a range of projects, including collaborations with other artists.
Cindy Buehler was chosen for the two tickets to tour Brayman’s unique studio space.
God of Carnage just had its run at the Unicorn Theatre. The Kansas City Actors Theatre joined forces with the Unicorn and a partnership with UMKC Theatre. The play centers on two couples who meet to have a civil discussion regarding a schoolyard fight between their sons. What results is a savagely hysterical night of tantrums and tears before bedtime — and the kids aren’t even there!
Kay Sodowsky, Jan McCreary and Lisa Payne received tickets to see the play.
