Volunteer Enjoyment at the Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest Presented by Arvest Bank

Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest

“All my life I have been a music geek. I love anything that has a great back beat that gets me dancing. Ten years ago, I got involved with Bluesfest volunteering. It gave me more exposure to the Blues music and the local community. I have checked ID for wrist bands and sold t-shirts in the past and had a good time doing it. I got my husband involved and now it is like a date night for us once a year while volunteering at the festival. It’s amazing to see who all comes out to enjoy the music. I have seen driver’s licenses from as far away as New York and California while at the same time seeing neighbors and friends.”

For 23 years the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Gladstone, have worked to bring in well-known Blues artists to the Northland. Oak Grove Park has been rocking and groovin’ to the sounds of award winning and well-known Blues artists. This outdoor event of music and food has been enjoyed over a two day period, rain or shine.

For 2019, regional, local and award winning Blues artists are performing.

Friday lineup: Heather Newman, Dustin Arbuckle & The Damnatins and the headliner is Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. Music starts at 6 pm.

Saturday lineup: Mark Montgomery, Ms. Hy-C & Fresh Start, and the headliners are Johnny Rawls and Kevin “B.F.” Burt. Music starts at 4 pm.

Come enjoy the music, food and cold drinks.
