Anticipation of the Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest presented by Arvest Bank

As the weekend gets closer for Bluesfest, the Gladstone Chamber office is in full swing of getting things ready. VIP tickets for the Sponsors and bands have been printed for them to enjoy food and drinks while sitting in the pavilion. Volunteers have signed up for different areas of the event. Some will be giving wrist bands and check IDs while others will be doing food and drinks. Adult beverages will be served and so will cold soft drinks too. T-shirts will be available to buy and those are always fun to wear at the festival.

Of course, we can’t forget those volunteers who help setup the Friday of and tear down late Saturday night/ Sunday morning after. These are precious volunteers who take that Friday off from their day jobs and come work to get everything ready for the festival. Then they spend their Saturday/Sunday to help take everything down and clean up.

There is a sense of community when I’m helping out at the festival. It’s the same people who volunteer but there is always room for new faces and extra hands. We have a good time and enjoy the food that is left over at the end of Saturday night. Plus you end up making new friends at the end of the day. Don’t be afraid to get involved in your community.

Come enjoy the music, food and cold drinks.
