Davin Watne Painting Featured in Netflix Drama Master of None
Kansas City artist Davin Watne has been racking up exposure over the past 15 months. In late 2014, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art acquired Watne’s multi-panel painting, Feel Secure, featuring 20 images of armored police vehicles from countries around the world.

At 19 Cary Esser flew alone from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to Kansas City, a place she’d never been. “When I got off the plane,” Esser recalled in a recent interview, “I just walked up to somebody and asked, ‘Can you tell me how to get to the Kansas City Art Institute?’ ”
