Cultures of China Festival “LEGENDS” at Kansas City Music Hall, February 3, 2017

5,000 years of Chinese cultural dance and music – all in one night. Traditional dances such as the Tibetan, Miao and the Flower dances of the Hui culture, as well as the folk traditions and fashions of Hani, Khazak, Mongolian, Yao, and Zhuang Chinese communities will be highlighted during the Legends stage performance.

Fifty acclaimed performing artists comprised of vocalists, musicians, and dancers direct from Beijing, China, will appear onstage at the Kansas City Music Hall on Friday, February 3, 2017, kicking off a multi-city United States and Canada Tour of the 2017 Cultures of China Festival of Spring Chinese New Year global celebration. The 7 pm China Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble program, entitled Legends, will highlight dance, music, fashions, and visual images, depicting the rich heritage of China’s varied ethnic communities. Legends tells the story about modern urban youth backpacking through China and experiencing the beautiful sights and sounds of China’s diverse cultural groups and scenic landscapes.

The Kansas City Chinese American Association (along with event supporters, the University of Kansas Confucius Institute and the Edgar Snow Memorial Foundation) is the local host of the China Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble, China’s leading performing arts group, during its Kansas City stay. The ensemble will present Legends to Kansas City’s Chinese and non-Chinese community members in recognition of the 2017 Chinese New Year

Join us February 3rd at 7pm at the Kansas City Music Hall.  For ticket information, go online to the Kansas City Chinese American Association website at www.kccaa.org or www.ticketmaster.com.
