Sponsored: From matchmaker to full-blown sustainability organization, Re.Use.Full celebrates five years.

After more than 10 years of starts and stops, Re.Use.Full finally launched in August 2020, in the height of the pandemic. While it seems like just yesterday, so much has happened in the last five years.

We started off with our donation-matching platform, which helps people with still-good stuff find a worthy place to rehome their items. Our charity partner community has now grown to nearly 140 nonprofit organizations, schools and churches, and we are thrilled to hear stories from donors who found a place for the clothes their kids have outgrown to help a struggling family or a household full of furniture from a beloved parent who has passed on to support someone who is starting over in a new home. While this was our original concept, our community (and founder) had other plans.

Inspired by Overland Park’s Recycling Extravaganza, we launched our Un-Dumpster Days in 2022. These one-stop drop donation collections bring together a group of our charity partners to accept surplus clothing, furniture, books and other household items at convenient drive-thru events. We also offer free paper-shredding and tire- and electronics-recycling services. To date, we’ve collected more than 30 tons of still-good stuff to help more people and pets in the community.

In 2024, we launched our Repair Cafes where skilled volunteers provide free fixes for bikes, clothing, computers, small appliances and electronics and jewelry, keeping them in use and saving the raw materials and energy needed to make and transport a replacement. We’ve now hosted 10 events with three more coming this fall. Held at churches, community centers and libraries, hundreds of items have been presented at these fix-it clinics, getting a lamp that belonged to a much-missed aunt back in operating order or a treasured bike returned to roadworthy condition.

For the past few years, we’ve also hosted Wednesday 101 Webinars. These monthly virtual lunch ‘n’ learns have covered a wide variety of sustainability-focused topics, from starting a native garden from scratch to green burials. We’re always looking for presenters and welcome you to propose a topic.

To celebrate our anniversary and the evolution of our organization, we’re holding a raffle for an amazing Royals package including:
