Hot on the heels of the release of their latest CD, GREATLY BLESSED, The Gaither Vocal Band, with its all-star line-up of Mark Lowry, Michael English, David Phelps, Wes Hampton and Gaither, will share timeless Gospel classics, as well as refreshing, inspiring melodies that audiences of all ages embrace. The tour stop in Independence on October 14 & 15 is one of the first of 33 stops Gaither and his musical entourage will make this spring during their worldwide tour, which will take them throughout the United States, Europe, South America and South Africa.

Few events have the ability unite individuals from all walks of life the way Gaither Homecoming concerts do. Year after year, Bill Gaither showcases the very best talent in the world of Gospel music, entertaining both young and old, and winning new fans with every performance. ìOur audiences over the years have been so gracious and supportive that now, more than 40 years after quitting our day jobs as teachers to pursue music full-time, we are still shaking our heads at how far beyond our imagination this path has taken us,î Gaither comments.

This year marks two decades since the Gospel music pioneer began recording his Homecoming series of videos. Since that time, the Indiana native has seen nearly every video turn to gold and platinum. The multi-Grammy Award winner has taken his Homecoming Tour into cities worldwide, performing to packed houses, boasting attendance figures exceeding 1.1 million and enjoying being ranked at the top of the list for most concerts tickets sold worldwide in any music genre.

Joining Gaither and his multi-award winning Gaither Vocal Band for the Independence event will be The Isaacs, The Martins, The Nelons, Charlotte Ritchie, Gene McDonald, Russ Taff, Ivan Parker, Lynda Randle, Signature Sound, Gordon Mote and Kevin Williams. Each performer has been honored with countless awards and accolades; however, as Gaither notes, his personal greatest joy is being able to continue to bring the music to the people. ìAwards, acclaim, gold albums cannot compare to the simple joy of being able to do what we love, after all these years, knowing that our work is still finding its way into the core of peopleís lives.î Gaither adds, ìIt all began as we were just writing songs out of our daily struggles and questions…but it struck a chord in lives.

Gaither celebrated his 75 birthday in March, and he has no plans to slow down, as long as the music continues to “strike a chord” and change lives.
