Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
In fact, what do a marshmallow launcher, the Patty Wagon from Spongebob, and a drum-playing robot named JunkBot all have in common? They will all be at this year’s Maker Faire! This year will mark our most diverse and hands-on lineup yet. From cupcakes and coffee cake to claymation, from handmade electric base guitars to a brain-computer interface controlled telepresence robot. From new technology and electronic gizmos to urban farming and “slow-made” foods to homemade clothes, quilts and sculptures, we have it all!
This year at Maker Faire Kansas City, we will have over 40 different robots of all shapes and sizes, live pottery throwing, a lego model of a waste water treatment plant, and so much more. This is an event the whole family will enjoy and will keep coming back to year after year!
In fact, this year will be the first year for our Maker Couture Fashion Show! The fashion show will be on Saturday, June 25, from 5:00 to 5:30. Unique designs that push the boundaries and integrate unusual textiles and materials—duct tape, cardboard, recycled materials, even 3D printing will be featured in the show!
Come see what others are making and be inspired to tap into your own creativity! You won’t want to miss the 6th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City! Tickets are on sale now at www.makerfairekc.com/tickets/
