There are many reasons that I and the rest of the music faculty are excited about teaching here at Avila University, but there is one that stands out above the all rest—you!
We remain extremely active in our respective fields, performing across the United States and abroad and presenting research at international conferences, but through all that we still consider teaching to be our primary focus. The result of this has been the development of a close-knit community of learners that is a joy to be around.
Our focus on undergraduate programs also means that you will enjoy personal attention from faculty members that are devoted to not only your development as a musician, but also to your goals beyond the degree. Whether that is graduate study, education, or any of the many other opportunities in the music field, we are dedicated to helping you succeed.
There are, of course, many other reasons that we are excited about what is happening in the music department. Enrollment is climbing, performance opportunities continue to expand (our top choir performed in Italy in the summer of 2016), and our students so often use their time and talents to give back to the community. In short, it’s an exciting time to be involved with music at Avila University.
More information about the music department can be found on the Avila website. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit, please do not hesitate to contact us.
