The artwork of Park University December graduate Suzy Smith will be on display at the Campanella Gallery on the University’s Parkville Campus beginning Tuesday, Jan. 3, through Friday, Jan. 13. A reception for Smith’s exhibit, “Senior Art Exhibition,” will be Sunday, Jan. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the gallery.
A secondary education/art major from Liberty, Mo., Smith attended Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Mo.
“My passion for art and children inspired me to share with students the importance of art in the world and give them a different way of expressing themselves in life,” Smith said.
Smith’s exhibit is the second of three senior art exhibits at the Campanella Gallery. Work of J.T. Daniels, a fine art major from Kansas City, Kan., is on display through Thursday, Dec. 22. An exhibit by Frankie Wickliffe, a graphic design major from Kansas City, Mo., will open Tuesday, Jan. 18, and be on display through Friday, Jan. 27, with a reception planned for Sunday, Jan. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Campanella Gallery is located in the McAfee Memorial Library in Park’s underground Mabee Learning Center, which can be entered through Millsap Foyer. Admission is free. The library’s winter break hours through Friday, Jan. 13, are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on weekends.
