Fall Fun at Shawnee Town 1929

Join us at Shawnee Town 1929 for the 50th Annual Friends of Shawnee Town Arts & Crafts Fair & Fall Festival, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Shop over 150 local vendors showcasing their handmade & homemade items! Enjoy Art, Food and Music at Lawrence Art in the Park

125 local, regional and national fine art and fine craft artists will transform Lawrence’s South Park into an outdoor gallery beneath shade trees and surrounded by beautiful flower beds. On September 19 (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and 20 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) stroll through the artists’ booths, enjoy food from the many food trucks, and find one of a kind pieces of art, while live music, played on the historic gazebo, filters through the air.

Northland Symphony, Celebrating 60 Seasons of Free Orchestral Music in Our Community!

Spend your afternoon with the Northland Symphony! Join us October 11, 3 p.m. at North Kansas City High School, as they celebrate 60 Seasons of creativity, community and connection through music. This concert will feature Young Artists Competition winner, Brady Rouse, performing Keiko Abe’s Prism Rhapsody. Concerts are always free, casual and held in accessible venues with free parking.

This special presentation pairs many of Stevie Wonder’s classic songs with beloved selections from the Blind Boys’ own repertoire, blending gospel, soul and Americana in a joyful performance that honors both musical legacies.
