Join Us at Boulevard Brewing, May 9 for GOAT

If you are a millennial – roughly 21 to 45 years of age — and like to travel, then have we got an event for you.

Acendas Travel, based in Mission for 35 years, is hosting GOAT – Get Out And Travel, 5 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 9 at Boulevard Brewing Co. It’s a millennial-focused travel expo featuring award winning Acendas Travel agents and six partners. There will be unique travel packages, designed especially for Acendas clients.

“It promises to be a fun evening,” Acendas Travel Director of Marketing Jeff Bollig says. “We’ll have free food from Californos in Westport and beverages, at a venue that is second to none. Boulevard Brewing Co. is the place to be in Kansas City and we are pleased to be able to host our event there.”

The format will allow for attendees to come and go, and spend time with the award-winning Acendas agents and travel partners. Attendees can have one-on-one and small group discussions to learn more about the travel opportunities.

“This will be a relaxed atmosphere,” Bollig says. “We look at this as an educational event. We know that there will be many people who have not travelled extensively and will have questions. We want to answer those and provide a variety of options to choose from. We know that the millennial generation wants to travel and experience the world, so this would be a great opportunity to learn more about the options.”

“We have asked our partners to be creative in what they are offering. For example, one of the travel packages will feature the traveller presented with a certificate of adoption for an orphaned elephant or rhino from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Another offers small boat excursions to the Galapagos Islands off the west coast of South America.”

While the focus is on millennials, Bollig says the young at heart are encouraged to attend. And if you are not prone to the more adventurous travel offered, perhaps you have children or friends who might like to attend. Again, the event is free, but an RSVP for head count is required.
