A Schubert Serenade, Presented by Lawrence Opera Theatre Friday, August 11

Lawrence Opera Theatre returns to the elegant Castle Tea Room, offering an intimate parlor concert to celebrate Franz Schubert’s 220th birthday. A Schubert Serenade is a celebration of some of his most loved works, from the angst of Gretchen am Spinnrade to the epic ride of Erlkönig. An intermission dessert reception with drinks is part of this special evening. Seating is limited, so reserve in advance. General admission.

Located at 1307 Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, Kansas, the Castle Tea Room was originally built in 1894 to impress and host the finest parties in Lawrence.  The Castle has since been restored to a level of quality rivaling prime examples of historic homes from the same era.
