A Tribute to an Original Buffalo Soldier

Trooper James G. Madison, an original Buffalo Soldier, will be honored Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. The program starts at 3 p.m. but the open house begins at 2 p.m. at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, 3700 Blue Parkway.

Gifts, cards, salutations, and flowers are welcome as BRW salutes Mr. Madison in appreciation of his service. More information on James Madison can be found on the Buffalo Soldiers Research Museum website.

The Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, operated by KCMO Parks and Recreation, is a living museum that stands in tribute to the legacy of Kansas City’s early African-American pioneers and embodies the artistic, cultural and social history of the African-American experience.
