And the Emmy® Goes to …
Three Kansas City-related organizations took home gold statuettes from the 2012 Mid-America Emmy Awards. KCPT staff took home two Emmys in special event coverage and community/public service. In the category of interstitials, Sharon Wright with She's Always Wright captured two Emmys – the first, writing for program/non-news and the second, interstitial programming for Change for a Dollar.

A thriving and vibrant art scene benefits everyone: tourism dollars as visitors visit museums and art galleries; national attention with such the Bloch Building at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts; and folks from the community, taking time from their busy weeks to see what arts lie in their own backyards.

It’s a Wrap…for the Kauffman Center’s Inaugural Year
With 292 performances under its belt, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has taken a few moments to reflect on its inaugural year. But only a few, as the 2012-13 season revved back up in early August when Starlight Theatre brought 12 performances of Aida to Muriel Kauffman Theatre.
