The Whole Package
For its 2018–2019 season, the Harriman-Jewell Series presents three world-class orchestras in what Clark Morris, the Series’ executive and artistic director, calls “the whole package.” Not only are the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Mariinsky Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony appearing in Kansas City with their music directors, but each concert will also feature an internationally acclaimed soloist.

Four Companies. Four Choreographers. Four World Premieres.
Since New Dance Partners launched in 2013, the annual showcase has staged 17 world premiere dances for Kansas City audiences — and has become a powerful and innovative player on the local dance scene. This year will be no different, as New Dance Partners showcases four world premieres from four world-renowned choreographers, with each new work staged by a different professional dance company from the Kansas City area.

Open Spaces, Kansas City’s 10-week, citywide arts event, will open this weekend, and Mayor James and the Open Spaces team will celebrate with you, your neighbors and gigantic puppets! At 11:30 AM on SATURDAY, 8/25, music will flow in Swope Park’s Village, food trucks will await you, and 40 dancers and 15-foot high artists will amaze the crowd!
