nelson2

Watch for a festive display by well-known Kansas City ceramics artist Irma Starr at the Nelson-Atkins Museum store during the NCECA conference. Starr has created an elaborate table setting, featuring a dinnerware set she has titled You never have to eat alone. Comprising a figurine and a plate united by a specially designed vestment pattern, each setting will be enhanced by gold candles, gold balloons, gold flowers and gold hats in celebration of NCECA’s 50th annual conference.

The store will also have copies of a new book, Ceramics: Highlights from the Collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, featuring images and discussions of more than 80 works dating from ancient Greece to the present.
