The Heroic Story of Dr. Ruth Westheimer Kicks off All New Season at The White Theatre

The 2016-17 season will focus on theatre, dance, music, literature, film and the visual arts — something for everyone to enjoy.

The White Theatre will kick off their all new season with the incredible story of Dr. Ruth Westheimer in a one-woman show, Becoming Dr. Ruth. Traveling from The New Jewish Theatre of St. Louis, this production directed by Jerry McAdams will feature actress Susie Wall, as the ever charming Dr. Ruth Westheimer. From fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport, to becoming an Israeli sniper, to her struggles as a single mother coming to America, Becoming Dr. Ruth is filled with the humor, honesty and life-affirming spirit of Karola Siegel, the girl who became “Dr. Ruth,” America’s best known sex therapist.

Go beyond the stage with the all new Explore More series at The J. This is an opportunity to enrich your theatre experience or engage with unique programming all its own. Explore More with the Becoming Dr. Ruth three-part series, The Making of a Mensch. Dr. Ruth, experienced one of the most tumultuous times in Jewish history. This series will explore the anguished choices confronted by Jews during her life.
