Between Silence and Light – Concert III : Music and Dance: Featuring the Owen / Cox Dance Group. This summer KC Baroque is delving into the creative process by exploring connections between art forms, eras and styles. With baroque music as a starting point, their concerts have offered a collaborative exploration of music and a variety of art forms including architecture, visual arts, written word and in this final performance, a celebration of dance.
Kansas City Baroque Consortium and Owen / Cox Dance Group on August 11 at 7:30 will present choreography set to a lush, warm and energetic variety of composers and works. Featuring works for small chamber ensemble and soloists including Handel’s Harpsichord Suite in E, Suite from Les Bourgeois Gentihomme by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Dances from Terpsichore by Michael Praetorius as well as the third in a series of commissioned works by Dr. Ian Coleman.
