The Leawood Stage Company is pleased to present a Broadway musical revue of Songs for a New World Friday and Saturday April 5 and 6, 2013 performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. Evening performances will be feature cabaret style seating at tables of 4 for $10 per person. Tickets include complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks.
A matinee performance on Sunday, April 7th will begin at 2:00 pm. Seating will be theater style with no admission charge or complimentary beverages.
Seating is limited and advance tickets are strongly recommended for all three performances! Tickets are available at the Parks & Rec desk in Leawood City Hall. Songs for a New World is a perfect date night or an event for a group of 4 or more!
Songs for a New World with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, is a contemporary music revue of songs about turning points in life, when things seem perfect and then suddenly change. The music expresses survival, or how humans adapt in the face of new circumstances, in a constantly changing world – a new world.
Leawood Stage Company is pleased to welcome Sarah Mae Blew as director of her first production with Leawood. Sarah is a producer, director, teacher, and performer for many of the theater companies and schools throughout the metropolitan area. Sarah has created a powerhouse musical team with Tim Braselton and Marsha Canaday as music and vocal directors.
The cast includes eight of the area’s best vocalists; Alex Bigus, Rene Blinn, T.J. Chaffin, Brad Clay Lauren Frazier, Courtney Koval, Andrew Lang, and Ali Watson.
