Maker Faire Has Something for Everyone

Maker Faire Kansas City is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the community.

In fact, what do a cosplayers, power wheels racing and 30ft egg drop challenge all have in common? They will all be at this year’s Maker Faire, June 24 and 25 at historic Union Station! And this year, will be the biggest year yet! The Maker line-up is diverse, hands-on and engaging.  From cupcakes and coffee cake to claymation, from handmade electric base guitars to a brain-computer interface controlled telepresence robot. From new technology and electronic gizmos to urban farming and “slow-made” foods to homemade clothes, quilts and sculptures, we have it all!

The 7th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, presented by Missouri S&T, will have more 40 different robots of all shapes and sizes, live pottery throwing, a lego model of a waste water treatment plant, and so much more. This is an event the whole family will enjoy and will keep coming back to year after year!

And we’re bringing back a fan favorite, the Maker Couture Fashion Show! The fashion show will present unique designs that push the boundaries and integrate unusual textiles and materials—duct tape, cardboard, recycled materials, even 3D printing!

Come see what others are making and be inspired to tap into your own creativity! You won’t want to miss the 7th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, June 24 and 25 at historic Union Station! Don’t wait! Tickets are on sale NOW!
