newEar Contemporary Chamber Ensemble – Strange Nonsense

newEar contemporary chamber ensemble presents Strange Nonsense, the second concert of our 19th season, on Saturday, November 5 at All Souls United Universalist Church, 4501 Walnut, Kansas City, Missouri. Pre-concert talk begins at 7:15 p.m. Concert begins at 8:00 p.m.

New music = nonsense? Not at all! newEar invites you to experience our take on “nonsense” – most decidedly more sense than non…. Featured are Jeremy Podgursky‘s piano trio Nonsense or Sorcery?#%! and Kamran Ince‘s driving, Turkish-inspired Strange Stone for ensemble. Olga Neuwirth‘s colorful and quirky 5 Daily Miniatures scored for counter tenor, bass clarinet, piano, violin and cello along with works by Jay Batzner and Henri Lazarof round out the program.
