Break out your red, white and blue and celebrate Independence Day in the best way possible – surrounded by friends, family and fireworks at Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular. This beloved community tradition is back and bigger, louder and more fun than ever, lighting up Corporate Woods Founders’ Park on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Bring your picnic blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and your crew to settle in for an evening packed with live music, delicious food and sky-shaking fireworks. Parking at Corporate Woods is open all day, and event admission is free. Come early to claim your perfect viewing and listening spot.
Event schedule:
5 p.m. – Food trucks open, follow your nose to barbecue, funnel cakes, hot dogs and more
5 p.m. – National Guard Band kicks off the night with patriotic music
6 p.m. – Superstar Mafia brings the pop and rock
7 p.m. – Run With It amps up alternative rock energy
8:15 p.m. – The Rock Gods take the stage with epic tribute hits by Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi and more
9:55 p.m. – National Anthem performed by veteran David Williamson
10 p.m. – Fireworks light up the sky, countdown led by Mayor Curt Skoog
Hungry? We’ve got you covered. Local favorites will be serving up delicious treats for sale, with something for everyone:

- K&C Concessions – sandwiches, nachos, tacos
- Taste of Brazil – Brazilian sandwiches
- Kona Ice – shaved ice

- Krazy Crepes – sweet and savory crepes
- M3 Ventures – funnel cakes, turkey legs, hot dogs, pretzels
- Plus lemonade and sodas to keep you quenched
Pop-up tents and alcohol are not allowed. Dogs are welcome, but consider your pets’ comfort with large crowds and loud noises before bringing them along. All dogs must remain leashed.
If weather dampens the fun, the fireworks show will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 5.
