Hosting Crash Course

Feb 6-7, MoHart Center, Kansas City, MO

MO Vacation Home Alliance

Kansas City and communities across Missouri are preparing for an unprecedented influx of visitors during the 2026 World Cup, and short-term rental hosts will play a critical role in welcoming them. To help hosts prepare responsibly and confidently, the Missouri Vacation Home Alliance (MOVHA) is hosting a two-day Hosting Crash Course on February 6–7.

This immersive event is designed for both new and experienced short-term rental hosts on both the Missouri and Kansas side of the state line, who want to be ready for increased demand, heightened expectations, and greater scrutiny. Attendees will learn practical, real-world strategies for guest screening, safety and security, compliance with local ordinances, neighbor relations, and property management best practices. The goal is simple: help hosts protect their properties and their neighborhoods while delivering excellent guest experiences.

The Hosting Crash Course will also cover what makes major events like the World Cup unique—from booking patterns and pricing considerations to managing longer stays and preventing problem reservations. With Missouri facing a limited hotel supply, well-prepared short-term rentals are essential to supporting local tourism and keeping visitor dollars in our communities.

Produced by the Missouri Vacation Home Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to responsible hosting and property rights, and sponsored by Airbnb, this event brings trusted education and expert insight to hosts statewide.

Space is limited. Register by Jan 23 for early bird pricing.  Learn more and register today at www.hostingcrashcourse.com.
