Save your seat for incredible performances in music, dance and theatre! This season, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory proudly presents, A Place We Call HOME, an introspective examination of the many meanings of “home.”
“What does home mean to you?” Is it a place you cherish — or one you’ve outgrown? A point on the map — or a feeling you carry within? These poignant questions linger ahead of the Conservatory’s largest renovation and expansion project in decades, which will see the transformation of its own longtime home on UMKC’s Volker Campus, the Olson Performing Arts Center.
The plan includes a 35,000-square-foot expansion of performance and rehearsal spaces in a beautiful glass- and light-filled addition to the east side of the building’s existing structure.
Join the celebration September 23 at 4:30 p.m., as the Conservatory breaks ground on these historic improvements which will modernize its spaces, ensure critical accreditations are maintained and allow community programs to flourish and expand.
Throughout the construction period, our talented students and faculty will continue to present world-changing creativity in the integrated performing arts. Upcoming performances include orchestral and choral concerts that explore our sense of place, dance performances which examine our sense of belonging, and theatrical productions which inspect the relationship between home and the heart.
Tickets are available now — reserve your seat today and join us for another incredible season of rising stars, bold voices and stories that feel like home.
