If you’ve ever wanted the perfect excuse to collect meaningful local artwork and support the artists who make Kansas City such a vibrant place to live, this is it.
The Kansas City Artists Coalition’s Annual Benefit Art Auction is one of our favorite nights of the year — a chance to take home work by artists across our region and at many different stages in their careers, with 100% of the proceeds directly supporting KCAC’s exhibitions, programming, and year-round operations.
This year’s theme is ((STEREO)), and we love it because it captures something essential about both sound and art: depth happens through layering. Stereo sound creates dimension by bringing different signals together — and in the same way, this event is about what unfolds when artists, audiences, ideas, and community all meet in one shared space.
((STEREO)) is the framework for our 43rd Auction, highlighting the dialogue at the heart of creative work — between materials and images, between artists and their communities, and between the people who believe in showing up for one another.
KCAC’s Auction is also our most important fundraiser of the year. Each year, hundreds of artists generously donate artwork, making this event not only a celebration, but a powerful example of collective support for a grassroots arts organization.
Leading up to the event, our Auction Preview Exhibition will be on view in KCAC’s Main Gallery and Snap Space, featuring work from a wide range of artists and perspectives.
The 43rd Annual Benefit Art Auction will take place Saturday, February 28, at the Medallion Theatre at Park 39, and will include both live and silent online bidding.
We’d love to have you with us — it’s a special night, and it truly helps KCAC continue to serve artists and the community all year long.
