Hotel Elsinore will captivate audiences on October 16 as tragedy and humor blend in this new play about the challenges of family, forgiveness, and Shakespeare. Winner of the Carol Tambor Incentive Award and chosen by the Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation to encourage new writing and live performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Showcasing Chicago’s finest, Chicago Blues SuperSession are seasoned blues singers and musicians. Enjoy this established group of blues artists, who could easily carry a whole show on their own. Inspired by the classic blues reviews of the 1950s and ‘60s, they utilize the same rhythm section (guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums), rotating the front singers. By changing styles and rhythms, the audience enjoys an exciting and diverse performance. It’s like a complete blues festival all in one show. See them live on October 19.
With something for the little ones, MTC Kids Jam Presents Sonia De Los Santos on October 26. Her free concert features songs inspired by Latin American rhythms like huapango, cumbia, salsa, and festejo, as well as North American folk traditions from the United States. De Los Santos has been nominated for a Latin Grammy and hailed by Billboard as “one of the Latin children’s music artists you should know” and “Best Latin Children’s Music.”
Also on October 26, close out Hispanic Heritage Month with Mariachi Herencia de México: La Nueva Generación Tour. The two-time Latin GRAMMY®-nominee Mariachi Herencia de México pushes the boundaries of traditional mariachi music. Simultaneously honoring the past, celebrating the present, and creating the future of mariachi music, Mariachi Herencia de México presents an electrifying and unforgettable night of Mexican music and culture.
