Not quite Victoria Secret Angels, but actual Angels and Aviators, who “dare to be themselves” will walk the runway as part of Kansas City Fashion Week February 23-26 2012, at Watercolors High Fashion show raising awareness and funds for the organization Angel Flight Central Inc.
These volunteer aviators are getting their wings from high fashion, as they and their angels strut their stuff for the Watercolor High Fashion show which holds a silent auction donating all proceeds to the national organization Angel Flight Central Inc. This event takes place on February 25th 2012, from 8-10.30 p.m.
Angel Flight Central, Inc. was founded in August 1995 with four volunteer pilots hoping to help a total of two passengers per month. By the end of the organization’s 14th fiscal year AFC will have flown over 12,000 flights equaling over 7 million charitable miles. The Board of Trustees has kept the goal of founder, James Stevens, Jr. in focus: “We are simply about people helping people in need.” As we head into the future, it will be the generosity of our volunteer pilots, donors and supporters that will enable us to “provide free flights for people in need.”
The shows sponsor and fashion show founder, Shelly Wood embraces the motto “Dare to be Different” which she says speaks to the core principal upon which our fashion show (and business) is built…”Dare to be yourself!” “Only by embracing your uniqueness is your true beauty able to come shining through.” “Our customers are reminded of this every time they walk in the store, and our audience sees the truth in it at our fashion shows.” Shelly founded Watercolors High fashion in 2006, and has successfully produced 14 fashion shows.
