Chaz on the Plaza is Back…and Better Than Ever

Welcome back to Chaz on the Plaza! The Raphael Hotel’s signature restaurant is officially open for dine-in with a brand-new look and feel.

The team at Chaz decided to make the best of the mandated closure and use the shutdown as a chance to get some renovations done. Interior updates to the restaurant include new carpeting, paint, wallpaper, light fixtures, and bar stools, which give the space a fresh, modern feel that guests are sure to love. Finishing touches include elevated décor and locally inspired artwork, including an original mural above Chaz’s most popular booth that represents Kansas City’s rich heritage and iconic landmarks.

In the kitchen, executive chef Shawn Hartwig created fresh new menu items to accompany the elevated interior. Summer selections highlight seasonal ingredients found at Kansas City farmers markets, such as locally grown produce and fresh meats. The playful mix of flavors and foods adds gastronomic zing to artfully plated seafood, pork, and dry-aged beef dishes.

In addition to the dining room, Chaz is also serving guests on The Raphael Hotel’s scenic patio overlooking the Country Club Plaza. Complement your al fresco meal with a distinctive wine from a well-edited list that has been honored by Wine Spectator with its Award of Excellence annually since 2012. Or, attend an upcoming wine tasting event, which Chaz is hosting each month as part of its Summer Patio Series.

  • Weekend Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, 7am-1:30 p.m.
  • Happy hour: Wednesday-Friday, 4-6 p.m.
