Since 2014, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts has featured thousands of talented local youth performers at Future Stages Festival. Every summer, the Kauffman Center welcomes the community to experience a vibrant display of arts and culture starring area performing artists aged 5 through 18. On Sunday, June 14, from noon to 5 p.m., Future Stages Festival returns for its 13th year. The event is free, open to the public and for the whole family to enjoy.

Future Stages Festival empowers the next generations of artists in alignment with the Kauffman Center’s vision of enriching the lives of everyone in our community through extraordinary and diverse performing arts experiences. More than 6,000 talented youth grace the Muriel Kauffman Theatre and Helzberg Hall stages and Saint Luke’s Outdoor Stage and Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box. Groups present a myriad of disciplines and genres of performing arts. Last year’s Future Stages Festival stars included groups such as Grupo Folklórico Alma Tapatía, A-Flat Youth Orchestra, Base Academy of Music Ensembles, ICE Studios School of Dance, Live Jazz KC High School All-Stars, Priscilla & Dana’s Tap Dance Company, Rebel Song Academy, Tahitian Association of Kansas City and Voler Aerial Academy Youth.

In addition to over 30 performances, festival attendees participate in interactive activities presented by the Kauffman Center and community partners that regularly include The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Mattie Rhodes Center, StoneLion Puppets, Kansas City Ballet, Kansas City Public Library and more.

Future Stages Festival is presented by Premier Partner Saint Luke’s. This event is also supported by Evergy, JE Dunn Construction, Richard J. Stern Foundation for the Arts – Commerce Bank, Trustee and Missouri Arts Council.

Community members are encouraged to RSVP to get the latest event updates and performance schedules delivered before the event.
