Busarin Kittichareonsup

On September 24th and 25th when the Lawrence Art Guild hosts their juried art fair, Art in the Park 2022 in South Park, Lawrence, Kansas over 20 jewelry makers will be in attendance. The level of artistry that will be displayed speaks to their level of workmanship and creativity.

Each piece created by Phoenix, Arizona artist Busarin Kittichareonsup is hand crafted. Using gold and sterling silver she works each piece using metalsmithing methods including keum boo to create unique pieces. Her works range from a whimsical roller coaster bracelet, to an enchanting necklace of ginkgo leaves.

Julie Kingsbury of JewelrybyJulie, Kristing Haug of Elemental Jewelry and Tammy Shaw of Shaw Earth Creations combine their love of metalsmithing with their appreciation for the beauty of natural stones. Julie Kingsbury’s marble and silver pendant is a perfect pairing of stone and silver with the design of the silver allowing the natural beauty of the marble to shine.  Kristin Haug’s silver earrings set with ammonites and peridots and lined with small silver balls create a one-of-a-kind treasure. And Tammy Shaw’s stunning pieces showcase gems and minerals that Smith and her husband have collected throughout the country.  They mine for gemstones, and then cut and polish them before incorporating them into unique pieces.

Goldsmith Louise Partain of Delicate Hammer Studio and metalsmith Deitra Biely of Ozark Impressions Studio incorporate foraged objects from their gardens or hikes into their metal work. Deitra Biely collects rocks, fossils, and botanicals and presses them into metal to transform the details of the natural world into wearable art. And Louse Partain casts her objects such as seed pods or pine cones in silver or gold and then embellishes them with gemstones, creating works of both striking beauty and strength.
