KCYA Spark the Arts Luncheon to Feature Special Performances

Spark the Arts in Young Hearts, a luncheon benefitting Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA), will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the Madrid Theater. The luncheon will highlight the important role the arts play in the lives of young people, and provides crucial funding support for KCYA arts education programs all across the city.

Student performers include Nora Payne and Georgia Bruders, both students of teaching artist, Chris Hudson, and members of one of KCYA’s Garage Bands, The Dead Beats. The band played its first full show this summer at KC’s Lemonade Park and also played at the KCYA Open House in August.

Teaching artist, Priest Hughes, will perform a spoken word poem and husband and wife duo, Rodney and Vanessa Gibbs will treat the audience to a lively demonstration of their African Dance and Drumming workshop.

The luncheon will not just entertain guests, it will raise much needed funding support for arts programs that engage and inspire students to succeed in school and life. https://bit.ly/LUNCHEON
