Located at the heart of Kansas City’s vibrant cultural and creative arts district, the Kauffman Center attracts some of the world’s most renowned performers and entertainers. World premieres, extraordinary performances, festivals, tours, free concerts and other innovative programs invite audiences to explore the arts in new and meaningful ways.
Have you ever wanted to attend one of these events and actually meet the artist, or go backstage to see how a production really comes together? Patrons may enrich their experience at the Kauffman Center with a range of remarkable benefits and priority access by joining one of the Center’s membership programs, which offer exceptional access creating unique experiences for guests.
One such group, Spotlight, is an outstanding collection of people who share a passion for and a commitment to the performing arts in Kansas City. Spotlight memberships range from $65 to $4,999. Individual members enjoy notable benefits, depending on their level, including tickets to a variety of member-only events, parking and invitations to attend exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities with guest artists.
Participants may also receive advance performance announcements and access to backstage tours – an area of the Center that most members of the public never see. Open to all age groups, Spotlight members are regularly invited to special events and recognized in performance programs. They receive hospitality benefits such as complimentary tickets to a choice of performances with valet parking and attend networking events. Members at the $1,000 level and above receive access to a personal concierge who can suggest events to sample and help arrange a special evening.
“We really value our Spotlight membership because it provides us early access to tickets and the best seats to many performances, and we want to support the Center’s future,” said Jim and Mary Stilley. “Our membership has created some memorable evenings with friends who enjoy the same type of events that we do. With the Kauffman Center beginning its fifth performance season, we are looking forward to many more wonderful performing arts experiences.”
Since its grand opening four years ago, the Kauffman Center has welcomed more than 1.6 million people who have attended events at the Center and experienced the impact of the arts in Kansas City. In addition to being an architecturally significant and beautiful venue, the Center provides a wide range of performing arts experiences to everyone in the community.
“We are able to offer outstanding programming and support the excellent work of our resident companies thanks to the generous gifts of thousands of community members each year,” said Paul J. Schofer, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
A new membership benefit this year is the Spotlight Members Holiday Reception on November 17, held on stage in Helzberg Hall. Those considering membership may still join with a one year membership and receive two tickets to the event, which will include a culinary demonstration by Executive Chef Philippe Lechevin and a special presentation by Paul Schofer.
Spotlight memberships are tax-deductible and help fulfill the Center’s vision of enriching the lives of everyone in the community through extraordinary and diverse performing arts experiences.
