Sponsored: Make Music Liberty – Free Live Music Experience in Liberty, MO

Starting as Fete de la Musique in France back in 1982, Make Music Day has exploded into a global celebration, taking over 1,000 cities across 120 countries every year on June 21, the Summer Solstice! This event was created to bring a free music festival right to your neighborhood, inviting everyone—regardless of age or level of experience—to join the jam session.

Make Music Day made its way to the U.S. in 2007, kicking off in the streets of New York City. Since then, it’s been gaining momentum, with more than 5,000 free concerts lighting up the country in 2024 alone!

Make Music Liberty

2025 marks nine years of this musical event in Liberty, MO, hosted by the Liberty Arts Commission. Throughout the day you may hear music being performed on a sidewalk, a residential porch, in a parking lot or outside a local business. Performances will be primarily concentrated in downtown Liberty!

Make Music Day is held on June 21 every year, and this year it falls on a Saturday! That means Make Music Liberty will partner with two other local events to make the day even more fun! The day will kick-off at 8 a.m. when the Historic Downtown Liberty Farmer’s Market opens. You can listen to the melodies of the musicians while browsing homemade goodies from local vendors. Then, Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. will celebrate its 20th with a block party that will include a special stage of Make Music Liberty performers.

As the day starts to wind down, end your night on a high note! Enjoy free performances into the night at local restaurants and businesses. Make sure to stop by The Corbin Theatre (502 N. Water St.) at 6 p.m. for a performance by Jazz pianist Bram Wijnands!

A full list of events and performances are available on the Make Music Liberty website and will be continuously updated as more performances are scheduled »
