‘All Colors’ Exhibit Makes Inaugural Kansas City Appearance
Longtime St. Louis-based gallerist and nonprofit leader Robert A. Powell is bringing the annual “All Colors” exhibition to Kansas City this fall. The salon-style group show founded in 2017 will run from Oct. 4 to Nov. 30 at the Leedy-Voulkos Arts Center.
After a lifetime of making art, Joseph T. Newton has had an especially busy schedule of showing his work in recent months.In late 2018, Newton participated in an exhibition featuring members of Kansas City’s African American Artists Collective at Tomahawk Ridge Community Center in Overland Park.
Veteran art dealer Doug Drake no longer maintains a brick-and-mortar gallery space, but he is still very much in the art game. Following 20 years running Douglas Drake Gallery and subsequent stints in development and fundraising, Drake, 74, has spent the last 10 years working as an independent art consultant, operating Drake Fine Art out of his home in Prairie Village, Kansas.
